Ibadurrahman = guideline dakwah?

Ibadurahman

Hamba Kepada Yang Maha Pengasih

Dalam surah Furqan (25:63-77)

1. Kenapa hamba kepada ARRAHMAN?

Kenapa bukan Alghafur, atau Al Jabbar, Atau Al Malik, atau Al Muhsinin atau asmaul husna Allah yang lain?

Baca dulu isi kandungan nya..

Terjemah Surat Al Furqan Ayat 63-77

2. Kenapa bukan TIDAK MENYEKUTUKAN ALLAH?

Bukan ke itu yg paling asas?

Jap, apa maksud ibad sebenarnya

Dan apa maksud arRahman pun?

Ibad = hamba

Apa tugas hamba?
- obviously, buat kerja tuhan dia.
Contoh, hamba kpd tukang kayu, kena la pandai bertukang, dan buat kerja pertukangan. Klu hamba dia tu kerja menjahit, dah pelik la pula bunyinya.

Jadi, ibadurrahman maksudnya hamba kpd Arrahman. Tahu Ar rahman tu maha Pengasih, tp, tak de job description yang detail sikit ke?

Hint: surah Ar rahman

Maksud?

1. Ar-Rahman.
2. Yang mengajarkan Alquran

Any idea now?
Apa kerja Arrahman?
= ajar alquran

Kerja ibadurrahman?
Pun ajarkan alquran la.

Meaning ajak manusia kepada ajaran Alquran. = DAKWAH.

Jangan lupa Allah yg berkuasa memberi hidayah.

Pendek kata, nak jadi hamba kepada Arrahman, perlu la buat kerja Ar Rahman dengan sifat rahman tu sendiri. Ajar Alquran dengan kasih sayang. Cara? (25: 63-77)

Jap, kenapa nak sangat jadi hamba ArRahman? Serious soalan tu? Sapa peganga hari pembalasan? (Baca alfatihah). Tak nak selamat ke hari tu? Renungkanlah.

Wallahualam.
Barakallah!

My not-yet -muslims (non-muslims) classmates' view about islamic practices.

WUDU' : Washing your body before touching a book?!

Washing your body before touching a book?! This idea my seem crazy to some but for Muslims reading the Quran this is a normal occurrence. I really appreciate this idea of valuing a religious text to this degree. Growing up as a Christian it was normal to see Bibles thrown around the church like any other book. This kind of treatment of the work causes the religious followers not to perceive its importance.

When one makes a ritual like washing their body before even touching a work it shows how vital it is to its people. It also shows the level of respect that those people have for their beliefs, even if it is just some ritual that is done without knowledge of its significance. It is completely understandable why people of any religion would be upset by others burning religious texts, especially for Muslims that hold theirs at such a high degree. This work holds much more significance for its people then books that have been burned for profanity and improper context in the past and people protested that happening.

The five pillars of faith were discussed as well this week. The dedication in all of the pillars is evident for the people of Muslim faith. Stopping to pray several times daily, and even fasting for an entire month are just examples of the selfless acts that are seen in this religion. The idea of fasting is especially selfless, where the religious people as a whole don’t eat to understand what it is like for others to deal with the struggles of poverty and hunger. This kind of reflection isn’t seen in many other religions, as many other religions goal is to just spread the “word” rather than helping others with nothing to gain.

SHALAT - the prayer

It is not always easy to understand why a religion performs a certain ritual or recites a certain passage, but it might be easier to realize that it does have a deeper meaning. As we talked about the Five Pillars of Faith during Thursday’s class, I began to realize just how important these rituals and beliefs are for the Muslim community. Sometimes people take for granted specific rituals or beliefs their respected religion may have, because we do not truly understand them. Many people simple perform the ritual, and have a belief because it is what is expected from them.

However, when I look at Islam, I do not see people just blindly participating in rituals or not understanding their belief.

Before even beginning to understand the Five Pillars of Faith, one must understand that the most important factor to keep in mind is this idea of this specific intention one must have before these acts can take place. This is important because a Muslim person is essentially surrendering their mind, body, and soul to Allah as they worship. Maybe I am right, or maybe I am wrong, but it seems that the

Muslim community has a stronger sense of identity already than many of the other religious communities around the world.

Just thinking about how many times a day I pray or don’t pray, or even the times I neglect prayer altogether, upsets me in a way. The only reason is, is that the first pillar of faith is praying five different times each day. This is better known as the salat. Not only is this performed five times a day, each time, they try to orient themselves toward Mecca, and they perform yogic movements while praying.

I definitely could not imagine doing this every time that I prayed so it is just awesome to realize the dedications some Muslims have. I can’t even begin to talk about the other four pillars because I feel like I have yet to fully comprehend them in their entirety.

HAJJ- the pilgrimage

Hajj also spelled as Haj is one of the pillars of Islam that is performed at particular place at particular time of the year. It is a set of rituals that spreads over five days and is performed at Makkah. Every Muslim having enough strength and wealth is expected to perform Hajj at least once in his lifetime.

The requirement that a Muslim be healthy and physically capable of undertaking the pilgrimage is intended to exempt those who cannot endure the rigors of extended travel. Wish of every Muslim is to perform Hajj but it is a must only for those who are capable of doing it since it demands more money, more energy and more mental power. So, it is better to perform Hajj at one’s young age.

Although Makkah is always filled with visitors, the annual Hajj begins in the twelfth month of the Islamic year (which is lunar, not solar, so that Hajj and Ramadan fall sometimes in summer, sometimes in winter). Pilgrims wear special clothes: simple garments which strip away distinctions of class and culture, so that all stand equal before God. Covering the face at that time is prohibited both for men and women and covering head for men is also forbidden. That is why the pictures of Hajj show men in white dress with open heads.

Muslims dressed the simple way, observe the same regulations and say the same prayers at the same time in the same manner, for the same end.

There is no royalty and aristocracy, but humility and devotion. These times confirm the commitment of Muslims, all Muslims, to God. It affirms their readiness to leave the material interest for his sake.

The rites of the Hajj, which were begun by Prophet Abraham, include circling the Ka’bah seven times, and going seven times between the mountains Safaa and Marwah as Hager did during her search for water. Then the pilgrims stand together on the wide plain of ‘Arafah and join in prayers for God’s forgiveness, in what is often thought of as a preview of the Last Judgement.

In previous centuries the Hajj was an arduous undertaking. Today, however, water, modern transport, and the most up-to-date health facilities are provided for the millions who take part in the pilgrimage.

The close of the Hajj is marked bya festival, ‘Eed al-Ad-haa, which is celebrated with prayers and the exchange of gifts in Muslim communities everywhere. This, and the ‘Eedal-Fitr, a feast-day commemorating the end of Ramadan, are the main festivals of the Muslims’ calendar.

Supposely, we muslims should have realize this better then them. We take our religion very lightly. Try to take a moment and think again about our religion. Where is the Respect? Don't we feel special having Islam as our religion already? Take the time, learn more about Islam. find and experience the beauty of it :)

May Allah please..

my own personal explaination about the Quran especially to the non-muslims

The Quran is the holy books to Muslims. To Muslims, the Quran is the literal words of God not words inspired by God. As a Muslim but not an Arabic speaking person, I have no doubt that Arabic language is powerful. I was born and raised in Malaysia; speak Malay as our mother tongue. Since I was a kid, I always have the question,’ why do I need to read the Quran in Arabic’. I mean, I can always read the translated version of it to get the message. But as I asked to, I just did. But at the time, I was asked to read the Arabic but not the meanings.

People in the community just want us kids to know how to read and recite in Arabic regardless we understand it or not. Until I become a youth, I started to think, why should I read a book without knowing what is the idea in it? So, I started to read the translation. Huh, seriously I felt so stupid that I don’t read the translation earlier. What a beautiful book. I became addicted to read more and more. And of course I read the Arabic too. As my professor mentioned in class, the Quran really has less description and narration in it. I know why.

We know the Quran is the final revelation meaning, that is the message and forever it will be. I love to give an example. Let say we take a verse from the Quran. Chapter 2, verse 216.

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

Personally, when I read this verse, during my struggle in live, no matter in my studies or as a human or as a Muslim, sometimes, I feel bad about my life. I feel weak when I lost someone or something I love. But this verse clearly state that I might love something but without me knowing, actually, what I love is actually bad for me and better for me to lose it. And I might hate something that is actually good for me. God knows best.

To take into context, this verse was actually revealed during the time of the battle of Badr. The Ummah don’t want to fight, especially with the Meccan which they might have their family members in it. But this verse was revealed to them so they do not hesitate to fight for right. They might hate to fight but Allah knows that is the best they should do. So, they fought. If this description was included in the Quran, the book would not as relevant and applicable as it supposed to especially in the situations nowadays.

See, this makes the verse applicable in any situation. It doesn’t mention just about war or battle. The verse itself is universal. That is why, to me, this is one of the greatest miracles of the Quran. We can currentize the verses and apply it to our daily life even it was actually revealed for a different situation fourteen hundred years ago. I started to love the Quran.

But the first question comes again. Then why do I need to recite it in Arabic? Obviously one of it because it is so melodious that you will enjoy it especially to find peace even if you do not understand its meaning. Honestly, I testify that. Then, I started to learn slowly about the language. I might not understand when people have a conversation in Arabic but as I learn I realize the power in it. Any language can not do justice to the Arabic language. For example, people with no Arabic background, when they recite, for example, Rabb, which some people translate it as lord, don’t know that there is actually deeper meaning in it. Rabb is not just lord but basically also means Sustainer, Cherisher, Master, and Provider.

To understand the meaning in Arabic is a bless. I can, even not perfectly, understand the meaning of the verse better and somehow enters and goes deep into my heart. Besides, I know now, when every Muslim recites the holy book from its original language, it is so much preserved. I used to question, is it really the words in Quran now is the same as the words Muhammad(PBUH) utter during his time? I get my answer. If everyone recites from its original language with same letters by letters, how can the book be altered. If only anyone wishes to do so, the world can realize it because the Muslims know exactly how the verses originally are. Even during this era, we are not living in the oral community, many Muslims can memorize the whole Quran from cover to cover. What about the Qurra during the time of the prophet. I am convinced. No wonder, when it enter ‘ the most recited book’ in the search engine on the internet, I see ‘the Quran’.
