This week, in the Muslim student Associaton of penn state Erie decided to have a discussion about this topic.. I ve done my researh by listening back to the lecture that i ve recorded from Dr zakir naik's tour in malaysia speaking about this topic.. Therefore, i am writting to give some i dea to all you so we can understand together, the beauty of Islam...
In Islam,Rights of Man n woman are equal But n0t identical.
1. Spiritual rights.
Misconception: paradise, only made for man.
Answer..4:124
Male or female ,who ever done righteousness, they shall enter paradise.
*spiritual rights in Islam for man n woman is the same.
42:7, 15:29, 32:9, 17:17.
2.Economic rights
Own, disown the property.
Not a single verse in quran or authentic hadith that dont allow woman to work.
Just that she should maintain her hijab n modesty. So, all the profession that involves the exploitation of woman's body is
Prohibitted Like dancing, singing, modeling and etc.
Same goes to men. Gambling places, alchoholic bars, are also prohibitted as it goes the other way of syariah.
In Islam, the financial burdens are on men. Women need not to work. Before get married, the duty is on her father. After marriage, the duty goes to her husband to look after her foods, clothings, needs etc.. However they may work if they want to. Eg, khatijah, wife of the prophet s.a.w, she works in a bussiness.
3. Social rights.
# Daughter 81:8-9
Killing female infant children is prohibitted in Islam. Not only female, killing any infant children is prohibitted in Islam.
6:151.
# wife.
Misconception: women is the instrument of the devil.
But in Islam, a good wife is actually will keep her husband away from the devil.
Who ever who manage To marry,he will complete half of his deen. Bcoz marriage keeps you away from syaitan.
In Islam, we Dont call a married women as housewife Bcoz they dont married to a house but we call them homemaker because they built the home. They are not slaves.
*In Islam, man n woman are equal. But when it comes to the aspect of leadership,responsibility and strengh, man will get more degree of advantage. 2:28
4:34 man are supporters and protectors of the women. They have more responsible to take care of the women. This does not mean they have more superiority to the women.
But ehen it comes to the aspect of love n companionship, women deserve more!
#Mother. 17:23-24.
Obey your parents!
Autenthic hadith: a guy went yo rasulullah salallahualaihiwassalam and asked,
Who deserve the most love and companionship in the world?
Rasulullah answered, your mother. Then who? Your mother. Then who? Your mother. Then who. Your father.
#75%of the conpanianship goes to the mother!
Only 25% goes to the father.
6:151. Be good to parents
Paradise lies under the feet of your mother. Means thay we need to do good to our mother so we shall enter paradise
*In social right, women have a higher degree of advantage in love n companion.
4. Education.
Seeking knowledge is an obligation to every Muslim. This command is for men n women. No such thing that Islam Dont allow women to be educated. Even aisyah r.a os a great scholar! She was an expert in the field of mathematics. She also, has written no less than 2000 hadith. N taught no less than 88 scholars.
* so, in education right, women have the equal rights as the men have.
5. Legal right.
Murder, similar punishment. Kill. Qisas. 5:28. 24:2

If anyone commits murder, they are actually is killing the whole of humanity.
Man n woman should not Rob.

6. Political right
9:71. 60:12.
Nusaibah..supported Rasulullah in the battle of uhud.
